the dna code could be used to store unimaginable amounts of information.. researchers have shown that encasing the dna is glass it would remain stable and able to be recovered for more than a million years.

by adding redundancies into the code it would still be preserved even if it did become damaged.. why didn't god think about encoding a simple "hello"?.

This reminds me of the scientists who created artificial DNA, and implanted it into a cell stripped from it's DNA. The cell with synthetic DNA was capable of reproducing.

So, creating life from dead materials is a step closer (in contrast to what dubs claim)

Yet the Bible is scientifically correct.

Never mind our God didn't know he should have included a proper calendar with the laws he gave Moses.

God will just adapt his infallible timetable to our confusing and wrong way of keeping track of moon, sun and seasons.

Or...it's just all human explanations that could just as easily have been justified the other way around.

I have doubts... can you help me??- A new idea

i have been perplexed as to how to brung my wife out of jws and to exit the religion... but i had an idea last night.

i know that elders will legitimantly meet with brothers who have doubts and encourage them... not df them .. this is a sheperding call etc.. thus since my wife knows i have doubt s i could say: i want to have two brother over to discuss this ... she will agree.... of course i will hit these guys with biblical textual issues, an biology to where they are stunned and still ask... "so brothers... can you solve this conflict...?".

in this case they will not think of me as an apostate but may question their own beliefs... .

With my wife I noticed these things:

1) She really doesn't like the fact that I investigated my doubts alone and didn't tell her anything before I reached my conclusion.

2) Since suddenly I didn't love Jehovah anymore, maybe I would suddenly not love her either some day soon? She felt insecure about that.

3) Since I destroyed all her paradise plans for us, and put her life upside down by suddenly changing from what/who I was when we married, she really needed some way to see I'm still the same nice, lovable guy. Luckily our newborn stills giggles at me and loves me unconditionally, and she showed my wife how to do that :-)

To help my wife regain her trust and love for me, I am being the best loving person I can be, helping her get to meetings and even with her talk, so she has only reasons to still love me.

We have agreed that for now, we will not discuss any JW topics just to make us not hate each other over that. So I am aiming for a slow deconversion for her ;-)

What you might take away from this: you have shaken your wife's whole world. Only thing she is still sure of is Jehovah and the cult. If she can't see it your way yet, leave that for now. Aim for the long term. Bring her to all the meetings if you can. Let her know by words and deeds you still love her, and that you still support her no matter what.

Btw this is also one of the topics that show how JW cult teachings work.

There is no JW literature that states that beards are no good, let alone explain why.

However, all pictures always place beards with Satans followers.

School book states something about the need that brothers with a moustache should keep it neat....but no word on beards.

So 'beards are bad' is only implied, never stated in writing as that is an untenable position. But still every dub understands and complies.

And this is how they work...imply something but do not explicitely state it. Then you are never wrong, can deny everything, place the blame on those who 'misunderstood', and you can't be sued. 1975 anyone?

Don't know where I read it, but apparently forcing compliance on non-issues like this (and skirts, ties, jeans) actually enforce the whole obey the cult, cult membership is more important than individual expression/needs/preferences.

Obey in small non important issues, and you will also obey when your life is at stakes.

Don't know where I read it, but apparently forcing compliance on non-issues like this actually enforce the whole obey the cult, cult membership is more important than individual expression/needs/preferences.

Obey in small non important issues, and you will also obey when your life is at stakes.

Btw haven't seen any elder with beard here. And definitely no bearded brothers with parts on larger meetings.

When I grew my beard a few years ago, on of the elders politely talked to me about it. Basically to probe if my beard was a statement of indepence. A one man riot :-) And if I had considered that some dubs might stumble because of my beard (as if it was thát long lol :-D)

So I told him (truthfully) that I just liked having a beard, no statement intended. I saw no biblical reason to not have a beard, and that if it would come to my attention that someone would stumble, I'd be willing to shave for the sake of the stumbler (pff the things you say when you're still in )

Problem solved. Kept my 'privileges' like reading the WT.

Could be dangerous...all it takes for them is to end the conversation with: "Do you still believe the GB is Gods spirit directed FDS forcefeeding truth to Jehovah's holy people?" and their sheperding call changes into an apostate search and destroy party.

I entertained the same plan for the same reason for a while, but for me the difficulties (mostly for my wife) of being DFed are not outweighed. I plan on bringing my wife out gradually without 'help' from the elders.

So only do this if you are willing to take the risk of being DFed.
